Starting with the 1.9.3 series, dCache includes support for Access Control Lists (ACLs). This support is conforming to the NFS version 4 Protocol specification.
This chapter provides some background information and details on configuring dCache to use ACLs and how to administer the resulting system.
ACLs and pnfs
ACLs are only supported with the Chimera name space
backend. Versions before 1.9.12 had partial support for ACLs
with the pnfs
backend, however due to the limitations of that
implementation ACLs were practically useless with pnfs
.
